HACKENSACK, NJ- FDU women's volleyball (3-15,2-2) was swept by Stony Brook (8-9,3-2) in their last non-conference match of the season at the Rothman Center this Wednesday evening. (26-24,25-15,25-23)
· MacKenzy Ruggiero led the Knights in kills with nine (.286)
· The Knights out-blocked the Seawolves 5-2.
Set 1
· The Knights had an early five-point run to make up the deficit and create a gap at 8-4.
· The Seawolves closed at 14 that caused a back-and-forth scoring tying it at 18-18
· Stony Brook had a three-point-run to make it 21-18 to take the lead and finish the set 26-24.
· Set one had 12 tie scores to keep it close.
Set 2
· Stony Brook had an early 5-0 lead.
· The Seawolves momentum took control of the second set as they extended their lead at 16-8 and took the set 25-15.
Set 3
· FDU had an early 5-1 run with Sofia Rampazzo at the line dropping two aces.
· The Knights grew to a 12-5 lead before Stony Brook came back scoring 13 points in three runs to pull ahead 18-14.
· The Knights closed it to one at 22-21 but couldn't hold pull ahead and finalized the match at 25-23.
