HACKENSACK, NJ- FDU women's volleyball (6-15,4-2) swept Stonehill (2-20,2-4) in
at the Rothman Center this Friday evening. (25-21,25-22,25-22)
Set 1
- The set started with back-and-forth scoring by FDU and Stonehill.
- The Skyhawks went on a three-point run which resulted in a four point lead at 10-6.
- The Knights sided out to tie it at 16 before pushing four points and forcing the Stonehill timeout.
- FDU came to life with a six-point run which gave them a 21-16 lead.
- The Knights were able to keep the lead and take the set 25-21 with a kill from Rampazzo to end it.
Set 2
- FDU opened the scoring in the 2nd set.
- Stonehill had an early six-point run at 7-3 and built momentum from a second six-point run to grow that lead to nine at 16-7.
- The Knights closed the gap with a four-point run and followed with a five-point run to regain the lead at 22-21.
- The Burgundy and Blue finished the comeback with a 25-22 set win.
- Giorgia Vaschetti had a strong swing in crucial moments posting six kills.
Set 3
- FDU took a 3-0 lead on the first three plays.
- With back-and-forth scoring, the score grew to 20-20 steadily.
- The Knights played a close set with six lead changes and 10 tied scores.
- At 22-20, the Knights rallied from behind with a five-point run where Kylie Nott pushed two kills to take it 25-22.
