NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y- FDU (1-10) suffered a sweep at the hands of Iona (4-7) on a Tuesday trip to New York. The loss marked the seventh-straight defeat or the Knights.

Inside the Box score 

·        Tatijana Fucka led the team in kills with 11 (.346).

·        Hannah Schmidt grooved three aces.

·        Rebeka Fucka put up two solo blocks and three more block assists.

How it Happened

Set 1 

·      With the score tied at five, Iona went on a five-point-run to pull ahead. The Knights closed the gap to two at 19-17 but couldn't finish the comeback dropping the set. 25-20.

Set 2

·      The score was tied five times before FDU took the lead at 17-16.

·      Iona turned it on to take the lead finish the set. 25-23.

Set 3 

·        Schmidt had two aces to start the set.

·        The Knights and Gaels were tied at 19 but Iona's strong serving made the difference. They took the set and completed the sweep. 25-22.

The Road Ahead

 The Knights wrap-up nonconference play with two matches in the Bronx, N.Y. for the Rose Hill Classic. They play Dartmouth on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Fordham on Sunday at 1 p.m.
